History

The Golden State Warriors are a professional basketball team based in the Bay Area of California. They are part of the National Basketball Association – Western Conference.

Originally, the team began in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

However, in 1962, the franchise was relocated to the San Francisco Bay area and was renamed the San Francisco Warriors.

In 1971, the team changed its geographic name to Golden State making them the Golden State Warriors. Since 1972 the teams home court has been the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

The Warriors have won 4 NBA Championships

2017, 2015, 1975, 1956
